Chocolate Jesus

I got an email earlier this week from the school, something to the effect:
"If you have non-religous Easter books, please send them to school."
Hmmm.
That's like saying let's talk about Good Friday, but leave out the part of the crucifixion of Christ.
Good Friday is about the death of Jesus.
In University I took a class and the opening line of the professor was,
"How many of you are in a cult, a show of hands please?"
No one raised their hands.
Then he asked, "Who is a Catholic?"
A large show of hands.
"Who is a Baptist?"
A pretty good show of hands, but not as many.
"Okay, so your cult is bigger than your cult."
That was a first for me.
But, if you read the definition of a cult, he was right.

Why not teach the history of the Holiday? Teach how different cultures celebrate Easter? Easter around the world, what they eat, how they celebrate. We fight wars over religion, why not start the conversations early about differences and similarities? I love celebrations with my kids, that is obvious from this blog. I love creating traditions that we repeat year after year. But we don't leave the "religion" out. I was driving down the road, stuck in Paris traffic, questioning my own religion, as one will do when driving in Paris, when I heard this song: It made me giggle and think at the same time. I would in fact buy a chocolate Jesus, I'm not even kidding! But since, they are not available, we will make resurrection rolls, go to Easter service at Champs De Mars, make cascarones and participate in an egg hunt. Happy Easter!

In this house we of course think of the Aggies as a cult....being a Longhorn is a sensible and intelligent choice...like being a Methodist!

Great song...

Happy Easter and love love love to you all!

My daughter and I ordered a dress from Doll House which was to be custom made. I placed the order on a Monday and was surprised to get a phone call the following Monday to say the dress had arrived it only took eight 8 days. I took the dress home and when I put the dress on my daughter, I realized that had just altered the dress (in store) and found pins still in the side seams. I was so disgusted with their lie when confronted they would not talk to me or acknowledge what they had done. To all you mum’s out there DON’T BUY FROM DOLL HOUSE.
